Undergraduate Pathway in Music
What are the progression requirements?
After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter a second year of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression. You must meet the following Marshall University Pathway Progression criteria in order to progress:
- Minimum of 2.0 GPA in Pathway program
- No I grades in a class
- Grade of C or better in all classes
- You are fully admitted to Marshall University provided you have successfully completed conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway program and submitted all required admission credentials.
The Marshall Progression Advisor is available to assist as you transition from INTO Marshall to full Marshall University admission. From helping with paperwork to ensuring you've completed your required courses, the Progression Advisor is ready to help you throughout the process.
Does this program lead to further study?
The Undergraduate Pathway program in Music at Marshall University prepares students to enter careers as professionals, pursue professional studies at the graduate level and apply principles learned through the fine arts to the many life choices all graduates make, regardless of vocation.
Music students may choose from areas of emphasis in Interdisciplinary music studies, jazz studies, performance (majors in orchestral instruments, voice, piano and guitar) or theory and composition (combining historical forms and contemporary trends).
