Graduate Pathway in Languages, Literatures and Cultures — Spanish

Do you want to study for a degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to an undergraduate degree program after completion of the Pathway program. We provide full integration with domestic and international students on campus from highly trained university instructors and tutors while giving you academic support throughout your program.

This Pathway program leads to a Spanish graduate degree where you will continue expanding your knowledge of the language as well as the literature and cultures associated with the language.

  • 4-year undergraduate degree from a regionally accredited university with a 3.0 GPA**
  • Satisfactory completion of an undergraduate degree with a 2.75 GPA
  • Statement of purpose in Spanish

What are the progression requirements?

After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed entry into a CSU graduate program (subject to successful completion of Pathway program and any additional requirements). This transition to university from an INTO CSU program is called progression.

You must meet the following Colorado State University Pathway progression criteria in order to progress:

Progression Requirements MA in Languages, Literatures and Cultures - Spanish
Academic Requirements:
  • 3.0 CSU GPA
  • No grade lower than a B in all Pathway classes
  • No I or U grades; no unresolved W grade in a required Pathway course; no S grades, except in cases of credit earned by exam
Additional Requirements:
  • Current résumé
  • 3 professional recommendation letters
  • Writing sample in Spanish
