Undergraduate Pathway in Dance

Do you want to study for an undergraduate degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to an undergraduate degree program after successful completion of the Pathway program. We provide full integration with domestic and international students on campus from highly trained university instructors and tutors while giving you academic support throughout your program.

Our new 3-Semester Pathway program is designed especially for international students who want to start earning credits toward their bachelor's degree at a US university. **All students should take the CSU Mathematics Placement Examination (MPE) before arrival.

Audition Information

If you would like to apply to the INTO CSU Dance Pathway program, you must submit the following:

Audition video

Modern Dance Technique: 20-30 minutes including floor work, center work, locomotion and combinations.

Ballet Technique: 20-30 minutes including barre work, center work and allegro (pointe technique for female applicants)

Solo: one-minute solo in either the modern or classical ballet discipline

(Video needs to be on a domain such as youtube or vimeo, where the viewer does not need to register or have a password to view your audition.)

Application Documents (in English): INTO Dance Pathway Audition Form, an artistic resume, headshot and any relevant information about the piece you are performing

Students must post the Audition Video online and email the link to CSU admissions ([email protected]). If you do not meet audition requirements, you may switch to the General Pathway and audition again your second semester. This will extend the time required to earn your degree.

Undergraduate Pathway in Dance

What are the progression requirements to the university's undergraduate degree program?

After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter a second year of study. This transition to university from an INTO CSU program is called progression.

You must meet the following Colorado State University Pathway progression criteria in order to progress:

  • Cumulative CSU GPA of 2.5
  • No grade lower than a C in all Pathway classes
  • No I or U grades; no unresolved W grade in a required Pathway course; no S grades, except in cases of credit earned by exam
  • Submit a Pathway progression application

What are my degree options after completing the INTO CSU Pathway?

Upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Dance Pathway program, you will be ready to start your second year in the program. CSU's School of Music, Theatre and Dance  prepares students for professional careers in the field of dance. The Undergraduate Dance Pathway program assures you a place in this program upon successful completion of the Pathway program.
