There’s no place in the US quite like the Washington, DC, area. Want to see where the President of the United States lives? Take a free campus shuttle to the train station, and you can be in downtown Washington, DC, in 45 minutes. Downtown Fairfax is a short, 10-minute walk from Mason's safe, suburban campus. There you'll find a mix of college town and semi-urban area with cafes, boutique shopping and designer stores.

It’s easy to explore this area, and you have so many options. Visit historic landmarks, hike in the Blue Ridge mountains, or spend a weekend at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. Mason also offers you weekend trips to places such as New York City and ski resorts nearby.
