Graduate Pathway in Bioengineering

Do you want to study for a graduate degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to an undergraduate degree program through curriculum consisting of credit-earning courses. We provide full integration with domestic and international students on campus from highly trained university instructors and tutors while giving you academic support throughout the program.

*This Pathway accepts students with certain 3-year degrees; see bridge entry requirements. Students will substitute two Mason Core or equivalent courses for Interpersonal Communication for International Students or Advanced EAP Reading and Writing and selected major course in consultation with an academic advisor.
**Major courses include Biomaterials, Advanced Biomechanics and Neural Engineering.

Graduate Pathway in Bioengineering

What are the progression requirements?

Upon successful completion of an INTO Mason Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your second semester of graduate study at George Mason University. This transition from an INTO Mason Pathway program to a university degree program is called 'progression'. You must meet the following George Mason University Pathway progression criteria in order to progress:

  • Minimum GPA: 3.33 in all Bioengineering courses
  • B or better in all Bioengineering courses
  • B or better in all PROV/EAP courses
  • No grades of NC, W, or IN permitted
  • GRE: 50th percentile or higher in all sections (Q,V, AW)
  • Statement of purpose
  • 3 letters of recommendation 

Students are fully admitted to George Mason University provided successful completion of conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway and submission of all required admission credentials.
