Graduate Pathway in Curriculum and Instruction/Special Education

Do you want to study for a graduate degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to a graduate degree program through curriculum consisting of credit-earning courses. We provide full integration with domestic and international students on campus from highly trained university instructors and tutors while giving you academic support throughout the program.

    NOTE: This program can be completed in 16 months including the Pathway program.

1This Pathway accepts students with certain 3-year degrees. Students will substitute 2 Mason Core or equivalent courses for Interpersonal Communication for International Students: Practicum and Theory/Advanced English for Academic Purposes and selected major course in consultation with an academic advisor.

Graduate Pathway in Curriculum and Instruction/Special Education

What are the progression requirements? 

Upon successful completion of an INTO Mason Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your second semester of graduate study at George Mason University. This transition from an INTO Mason Pathway program to a university degree program is called 'progression'. You must meet the following George Mason University Pathway progression criteria in order to progress:

  • Minimum overall GPA: 3.0
  • B or better in PROV/EAP classes
  • No grade of NC, W or IN permitted
  • Statement of purpose
  • 2 letters of recommendation

Students are fully admitted to George Mason University provided successful completion of conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway and submission of all required admission credentials.
