Graduate Pathway in Earth Systems Science

Do you want to study for a graduate degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to a graduate degree program through curriculum consisting of credit-earning courses. We provide full integration with domestic and international students on campus from highly trained university instructors and tutors while giving you academic support throughout the program.

Graduate Pathway in Earth Systems Science

What are the progression requirements? 

Upon successful completion of an INTO Mason Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, students may enter their second semester of graduate study at George Mason University. This transition from an INTO Mason Pathway program to a university degree program is called progression. Students must meet the following George Mason University Pathway progression criteria in order to progress:

  • Minimum Overall GPA: 3.3
  • B or better in all courses, at least one A
  • No grades of NC, W, or IN permitted
  • Letter of recommendation from Earth Systems Science Faculty Advisor
  • Statement of purpose

Students are fully admitted to George Mason University provided successful completion of conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway and submission of all required admission credentials. 

Progression Advising

The INTO Mason Progression Advisor is available to assist Pathway students as they transition from INTO Mason to full George Mason University admission. From helping with paperwork to initiating the transition to ensuring students have completed their required courses, the Progression Advisor is ready to help students throughout the process.
