Your course options

Life outside the classroom

As an international student, you can live as part of a vibrant student community in our purpose-built halls of residence. Or why not experience real British life in a family homestay? Both options offer a secure, comfortable environment in which to grow – both academically and as a person.

The INTO Manchester Welcome Desk is available for any questions you may have, and you can also call a 24-hour telephone number in case of an emergency.

Investment in your future

You'll benefit from the results of a £350 million investment in research and teaching facilities. This includes investments of £75 million in the Business School and Student Hub, and a new £35 million building for the Manchester School of Art.

The city centre is home to a world of culinary adventures. There are also 11 food and drink venues across two sites for when you feel like staying on campus.

Other university amenities include an extensive library open 24/7 during term time, and IT facilities where you can borrow netbooks, laptops, camcorders, audio-visual equipment and projectors - all free of charge.

Your future university learning experience will be among the best in the country. The Quality Assurance Agency placed MMU in the UK top 20, and the University offers an award-winning business school that is placed in the top 5% of global universities with AACSB accreditation.

It is also home to the second oldest art and design school in Britain.

The UK Government graded 85% of the University's research as 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'. 260,000+ alumni all across the world have already used this excellence to impact on society, the environment, the economy, culture and public policy. And now you can join them.

As an MMU student, you'll enjoy the results of a £350 million programme of investment.

The spectacular £75 million Business School and Student Hub has some of the best teaching and learning facilities in the UK.

The new £35 million building for the Manchester School of Art provides classrooms, workshops and multifunctional studio spaces.

The award-winning £140 million Brooks building is home to the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care and the Faculty of Education. It features large modern lecture theatres, a multi-function sports hall, drama studio, art gallery and studios, music technology suite, and specialist teaching areas.

A multi-million pound investment in the Hollings Faculty has created industry-standard facilities, including fashion product development, CAD and fashion technology studios, a human physiology laboratory, and sensory analysis facilities.

The University has won awards for the environmental design of its new buildings, and is proud to the 3rd greenest university in the UK's People and Planet University League. You can also find out more about our new Birley Fields building - a superb new learning and teaching environment for more than 6,500 staff and students that was opened in September 2014.

More about rankings

Focused on your employability

When you progress to MMU, your learning will benefit from a dedicated focus on employability. The University was the first to offer paid industry placement years (called 'sandwich years') in its courses.

It offers more than 1,000 undergraduate degree and postgraduate programmes, with the University in the top 20 in the UK for 8 subject areas (the Complete University Guide 2016).
