"I had the grades to go to the other universities, but I went to MMU. It was the best decision I ever made. I like MMU and their standards. It’s not all about the ranking; it’s about the quality of education you receive and what you make of it."

Meet Rafael from Venezuela who studied the International Foundation in Business and Humanities. He progressed to MMU to achieve a BA (Hons) Business Enterprise and is currently studying MA International Food Management at MMU.

How did studying at INTO Manchester help you progress to Manchester Metropolitan University?

Everything has been a piece of cake for me and that’s because of INTO Manchester. I was taught independent learning and critical analysis. This is key for when you go to university, it’s a phrase you will hear all the time. It opened my mind; this is how you need to look at things, this is how you need to write about them. I developed important skills that I have used throughout university.

Can you describe what the Manchester Metropolitan staff and facilities are like?

They have invested £millions in new facilities. The buildings are awesome inside, they are amazing! Everything is very centred to the student. The staff at MMU are what makes MMU what it is; they’re very good, they know what they’re doing, are very efficient and they teach you a lot of important things. There is always someone specialised available for any problem that you might have. I think the staff and facilities are awesome.

Would you recommend the INTO Manchester experience to others?

100% and I have. Since I graduated from INTO Manchester, I have recommended it to several people. I always recommend this place. In my year there, I had a lot of work to do and a lot of progression to make, but after that year it has been a very smooth ride for me at university and it has been thanks to INTO Manchester. I especially would recommend INTO Manchester now I’m close to finishing my time at university, it was really easy and I have to be thankful to INTO Manchester for that.
