Undergraduate Pathway in Electrical and Computer Engineering

Do you want to study for an undergraduate degree in the United States but need to improve English language skills or test scores? A Pathway program provides academic, language and cultural support in order to succeed at a US university. Students are guaranteed progression to an undergraduate degree program through a curriculum consisting of credit-earning courses. Note: In order to graduate from the degree program in four years, summer courses may be required.

*Math placement will be determined by the score achieved on a Department of Mathematics placement test. Students who place below MTH 132 Pre-Calculus will be required to substitute some Pathway courses, which may extend the time necessary to complete the program.

*If you meet all of these criteria, you may apply directly to Marshall University. If you do not meet these criteria, we encourage you to apply to our Pathway and English language programs.

**Students using Password and PTEA as proof of English level will take an English placement test upon arrival. Students scoring below the required entry standard for their Pathway will be placed in Academic English.

Undergraduate Pathway in Electrical and Computer Engineering

What are the progression requirements?

After successfully completing the Pathway program, you are guaranteed to enter a second year of study. This transition to university from an INTO program is called progression. You must meet the following Marshall University Pathway Progression criteria in order to progress:

  • Minimum of 2.0 GPA in Pathway program
  • No I grades in a class
  • Grade of C or better in all classes
  • Students are fully admitted to Marshall University provided they have successfully completed conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway program and submitted all required admission credentials.
