Student support

Here to help you succeed

We know how important it is to have a strong support network during your time at university. We’ll help you build that network as soon as you’re ready. It’s an exciting time when you first arrive in China and there’s so much to take in. But, without even realising it, you’re making friends and connections to people and services that will support you throughout your journey. From the moment you see your name on our board at the airport, to the day you’re throwing your cap into the air at graduation, you’ll be surrounded by people who want to help you succeed.

Support to success

Help with your studies

  • Regular assessment to monitor your progress
  • Detailed feedback on your performance
  • Professional support and careers guidance
  • Chinese language tuition
  • Dedicated personal tutor
  • Help using the library and IT facilities
  • Field trips, guest speakers and professional masterclasses

Your teachers are world-class academics, who’ll motivate and challenge you. Many are still research-active and at the forefront of their fields. Use them! If there’s anything you don’t understand, you just need to ask.

Helping you live life to the full

Help with living

  • Visa and immigration support
  • Airport pick up service
  • Orientation programme
  • 24-hour emergency contact number
  • Opening a Chinese bank account
  • Multilingual staff who can translate
  • Lots of social activities for making friends

Studying abroad and adapting to a new way of life is a challenge, and not something we expect you to do on your own. We’re here to support you at every step. We’ll prepare you before you leave home and be there to greet you at the airport when you land. We’ll take you to your accommodation and show you around campus so you know where all the essentials are.

Most of our team have been international students themselves, so we know first-hand what you’re going through. You don’t have to worry about settling into life in China, that’s our job. We’ll make the transition smooth so you can focus on your studies.

You’ll want to check out our social calendar, we organise lots of activities. Some on campus, some trips out sightseeing. We can introduce you to clubs and societies – the language and culture exchange is really popular with local and international students.

We hope you’ll never need it, but sometimes things don’t go to plan. You’ll have access to an emergency contact number for out-of-hours assistance from our student support team for times when you can’t get to the INTO office.

"With INTO I knew I'd be provided a support network, which is comforting, not to mention the extra step they take to make sure you're fully introduced to the culture. " Jaila from the USA
