Do you think that INTO Manchester and the University have prepared you well enough for life after university?

Definitely! Especially the course I studied. It prepared me very well as we did exams but we had a lot of practical based assessments and group work as well. At the time I did not like that but that’s how real life works. You have to work with people that you don’t necessarily get along with; people who aren’t friendly and experiencing it firsthand is very useful. That’s exactly what you need to know about before you go into the real world.

Do you think that your international experience gave you an edge over other candidates for your job?

I think it did. I think in general, having extracurricular activities besides academic achievements is very important. You must show them that you’re a very well rounded person because everyone can get good grades. Lots of other people who have graduated also applied for the same job as me. So you need to distinguish yourself from the others.

What are The University of Manchester’s strongest features in your opinion?

I think what appealed to me about this university was obviously its ranking and its international reputation, but also the city, itself. It’s a very student friendly city; it’s still exciting but not as big as a capital.

Would you recommend studying at INTO Manchester?

Of course I would recommend INTO Manchester to all international students who want to get a degree in the UK. Definitely! Not only will you meet a lot of people; the people I met at INTO Manchester are still my friends right now even though they’re half way around the world. But you also learn more about the city you’re going to live in and adjust better. You get prepared better for university and the work ahead of you.
