Here to help you succeed

We’ll help to make your transition to university as smooth as possible. With our support, you’ll adjust to the learning style in the UK and develop all the study skills you need to succeed.

You’ll have a personal tutor who you can go to for academic advice throughout your studies. Our friendly support staff will help you to settle in and are there to help if you have any issues or questions.

Help with your studies

The University provides:

  • a personal tutor to give you academic advice throughout your studies
  • help with academic queries and academic writing skills
  • friendly library staff to help you find the books you need
  • IT helpdesk staff who will help you connect to the internet
  • 24/7 access to computers and learning resources during term-time

INTO will:

  • Give you one-to-one time with your teachers during classes
  • Assign you an academic tutor who you can talk to about your course
  • Help you adapt to the UK learning culture
  • Guide you with your academic essay writing
  • Show you how to conduct research and presentations
  • Provide additional support for students with disabilities

Help with your living

  • Visa workshops for help with renewing or extending your visa
  • 24-hour support from residential advisors in the accommodation
  • 24-hour emergency contact number
  • Additional support for students with disabilities
  • Help registering with a doctor
  • Help opening a UK bank account
  • An airport pick-up service
  • Counselling service to support your mental and emotional health
  • Language advisors who can translate for you
  • Chaplains who you can talk to for support or guidance with any personal issues
  • A calm space for prayer and reflection in the Faith Centre
  • Assistance finding part-time work from the Degreeplus office
  • One-to-one career guidance and information for when you graduate
  • Support in applying for finance, paying your fees and applying for bursaries
