The INTO Stirling Study Centre in Airthrey Castle

More about the INTO Centre

Where it all begins

The INTO Centre is your base of operations. It’s where most of your classes will take place. Need a quiet place to do some independent study? Or working on a group project? Come to the INTO Centre and use one of the dedicated study spaces.

Set in a castle beside the loch on campus, you’ll have no trouble finding the Centre. And as you’ll have everything at your fingertips, you’ll get used to the layout in no time.

Modern, interactive classrooms

Modern, interactive classrooms

Each classroom has the latest learning technology. The desks have built-in computers connected to the interactive whiteboards, so it’s easy to get involved. You won’t just be sitting and listening to someone talk – you’ll be learning through doing. You’ll love interacting with everything.

Learning beyond the classroom

Learning beyond the classroom

You’ll also have access to Succeed, the University’s virtual learning environment. This means you can download lecture notes and course content on the move. And you can take part in online discussions with classmates and your tutors.

The Learning Resource Centre is a dedicated learning space containing study areas and items to borrow. You’ll find books, DVDs, journals, CDs and newspapers there. Need to print or scan something? Come along to the Learning Resource Centre.

Cafés on campus

Cafés on campus

It’s important to take regular breaks when studying. For times when you need to refuel, you’ll find three different cafes and ten different places to eat on campus.

You’ll find light meals such as sandwiches, salads and soups throughout campus. When you need something more filling, there’s burgers, pizzas, nachos and shawarma wraps. You’re never too far from a freshly brewed coffee, lunch or a snack.

Your safe space

Your safe space

The Centre is home to support staff dedicated to you. If you have a problem with something personal or your accommodation, they are there to help. No matter how big or small the issue is, they’ll do everything they can to solve it.

When the day ends, our support doesn’t. You’ll be given an emergency telephone number when you arrive. You can call this number any time or day or night if you need us. In the accommodation, you’ll find residential tutors. They are available 24 hours a day if you need help with anything.

"My experience here has been wonderful, I don’t know many people who have had the pleasure of studying in a castle and in this setting." Biral from Kenya
