  • Undergraduate degree in Interior Design or related field with a 3.0 GPA
  • 3 letters of professional reference
  • GRE or GMAT scores for some degrees
  • Portfolio of design work*
  • TOEFL iBT 80-93, dependent on program
  • IELTS 7.0-7.5, dependent on program
  • Completion of AE Level 6
  • 16 years and above

* The portfolio should reflect the applicant’s skills in areas of design, drawing and representation, model making, freehand drawing, diagramming, and overall creativity. Other areas that may be included are painting, sculpture, watercolor, creative writing, photography, or other fine arts. If professional work is submitted, identify your specific involvement in the project. Graphic design of pages (layout, images, text) should be carefully considered. Maximum 10 pages double sided (20 pages total).

Graduate Pathway in Interior Design

What are the progression requirements?

Upon successful completion of an INTO WSU Pathway program and meeting university requirements for graduate admission, you may enter your next semester of graduate study at Washington State University. This transition from an INTO WSU Pathway program to a university degree program is called progression. You must meet the following Washington State University Pathway progression criteria to progress:

  • 3.0 GPA
  • No "W" or "I" grade in a class
  • Grade of “C” or better in all classes

You are fully admitted to Washington State University provided successful completion of conditional admission criteria at the end of the Pathway and submission of all required admission credentials.
