Students outside the INTO Queen's study Centre

About the INTO Centre

Your journey starts here

The Centre will be one of the first places you visit when you arrive, and your classes will be held here, right in the heart of campus. If you need a quiet place to study, you’ll find it here. When you want to work with your classmates, you’ll find plenty of group study areas too.

Everything is at your fingertips at the Centre. It’s your hub of learning.

You'll learn in modern classrooms, some of which are equipped with interactive whiteboards and flat screen televisions. Everything has been designed with you in mind, to give you the best experience.

Need a quiet space to read? Or a table for your group to brainstorm over? Come to the Centre. You’ll find study spaces and Wi-Fi throughout the Centre, so you can work wherever suits you best.

The Learning Resource Centre has books and study materials to get you started. Whether you need to type up your notes, photocopy from a book or print off your essay, you can do it all here.

Plus, as an INTO Queen's student, you will also have full access to study materials at the award-winning McClay library at Queen's, in addition to the reading materials in the Learning Resource Centre.

Throughout your studies, you’ll have access to Queen’s Online (QOL), the University’s virtual learning environment. You’ll be able to access lecture notes and course content from any computer. You can also discuss topics with your tutors and classmates.

The McClay library has over 1.2 million books and journals for you to choose from. You’ll also find quiet spaces and study rooms providing late-night computer access. Need help connecting to the Wi-Fi? No problem, the IT Service Desk will be happy to help.

Hungry? Thirsty? Take a break at Café Carberry. This little café sits in the INTO Centre, so you’re never far from a snack break. It’s a great place to relax with friends over lunch or study solo with a coffee. You can buy sandwiches, soups, pastries and hot or cold drinks. Have a special diet? No problem, vegetarian, vegan and halal options are available.

Your safe haven

Our friendly support staff are here to help you. If you have a problem with your course, come and speak to your personal tutor. Issues with accommodation or something personal? We can help.

When you arrive, you’ll be given an emergency telephone number. You can call any time of day or night if you need help. You’ll also find residential tutors in your accommodation, who are there for you 24/7, if you need anything.
