Center for Global Citizenship

Campus life

So much to do outside of the classroom

In the heart of campus, the Center for Global Citizenship brings all of Saint Louis University (SLU)’s international and cross-cultural academic and support services under one roof. You'll also find a student lounge with access to international media outlets, conference rooms with worldwide teleconferencing abilities and a high-tech auditorium with more than 1,000 seats.

Religion and faith

Regardless of your religious identity, you're encouraged to nurture your faith while attending SLU. Organized networks of campus ministries and houses of worship are easily accessible to all students. Service-learning initiatives are frequently hosted on campus. You will have the opportunity to participate, learn and engage to enhance your personal and social responsibility.

Show your Billiken pride

Athletics play a big part of student life on campus. Whether watching or playing, there are all sorts of opportunities for you to get involved.

If you want to see intercollegiate sports at their finest, look no further than SLU’s 18 men’s and women’s Division I varsity teams. Basketball and volleyball teams play in the state-of-the-art, 10,600-seat Chaifetz Arena.

Want to get involved? There are plenty of options. The school’s club and intramural sports provide an opportunity for you to participate in fun, competitive events. The sport clubs compete against other colleges and universities across the nation. These clubs offer opportunities for all levels of experience to receive valuable leadership skills. Intramural sports give you a chance to explore new or untried recreational activities without so much pressure of competition. You have a chance to participate no matter what the level of ability.

Keeping you healthy and safe

Staying healthy is very important when you are studying. SLU's Wellness Initiative makes sure that your mind, body and soul remain in balance. If you're suffering, all areas are affected. The Student Health Center and University Counseling Center provide medical treatment, psychological counseling and outpatient services as well as a variety of educational programs.

SLU's campus is very safe and has its own full-service law enforcement agency on campus. Rave Messenger is SLU’s emergency notification system used to send messages about school closings and timely safety warnings to the university community via text, email and telephone call.

We have staff who can help ease your transition to the US. Whether you need to speak to someone in your native language, get a driver’s license or find a doctor, you can visit the INTO SLU front desk and we will help you.
