Always here to support you
Support from the university comes in many forms. Language advisors at the INTO UAB Center are available to support new students who may need help communicating effectively in English. The International Student and Scholar Services team in conjunction with the INTO UAB team provide visa and immigration support. The Learning Resource Center is an invaluable asset for your use in obtaining tutoring services. Looking for support in your personal life? Support goes beyond academics and is available through our social and cultural programs.

Support outside of the classroom
The Office of Student Advocacy, Rights and Conduct guides students through the university system. The office can direct you towards campus and community resources, food and school supplies during financial strain, referrals for long-term care, and a variety of other solutions to obstacles you may face. They can help you understand the various policies and procedures within the university such as academic appeals, judicial appeals, grievances, mental health wellness, support for victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The office can also help connect you to the proper person or office to assist in negotiations or other aspects of problem-solving.
Your life here
