“The students who study a second language develop greater critical thinking skills because they have to challenge themselves in new ways using different vocabulary, grammar and syntax than people who are monolingual. People who study a second language also wind up developing better creative problem-solving skills than individuals who are monolingual and those creative problem-solving skills are supercharged by students who go on to study abroad.”

“I love being a part of students’ academic, professional, and personal development throughout their years at Hofstra. Each semester, I get to work with a diverse set of students from different backgrounds with a shared common interest. I do my best to incorporate research, current events, and relevant life examples to bring finance to life for them. Many students leave my classroom inspired by their newfound appreciation of what once was a seemingly intimidating subject.”
