Your student services team
As an INTO student, you'll benefit from a range of practical guidance and support.
You'll always get a helpful answer from your support team – from securing a visa, to enjoying your time in the most popular student city in the UK.
And we'll also organise a wide range of social activities to help you meet new friends and enjoy your new home!
Support with your visa
Our friendly team of customer relations advisers will ensure your application is processed swiftly.
Once you arrive in the UK, you'll get practical support and guidance on renewing your student visa. Workshops are held throughout the year, and a full-time student visa specialist is on-hand to offer individual advice.
A range of additional support
Our Student Services support team has many years of experience in caring for international students.
They'll help you settle into the city, and introduce you to everyone you need to know in the INTO Centre.
Additional support includes:
- a comprehensive orientation programme during your first week
- language advisers to help students not yet confident speaking English
- a range of student clubs and a programme of fun social activities
We encourage our students to have a balanced student experience. In order to help students interact with others, make friends and to encourage them to use their English language skills outside of the centre, we have a varied programme of social activities that students can take part in. While some of these activities are free of charge, there are other excursions that have a fee to attend (this fee is in addition to the tuition fees you pay).
Examples of the activities we offer are:

Your safety is our priority
As with all big cities, it's wise to take reasonable precautions to secure your safety in Manchester. Being aware of your surroundings will ensure you don't encounter any issues, and the Greater Manchester Police website offers a range of practical advice.
When you arrive, you'll be issued with a telephone number that can be used in the event of an emergency - any time, day or night. And 24-hour support is provided in your halls of residence, for complete peace of mind should the unexpected happen.
Accommodation options also include security features such as CCTV and secure door entry for additional safety.
More safety advice for international studentsBefore the Centre accepts a student who is under 18 years of age, their parent or guardian must sign a consent form agreeing the outlines of the INTO Under 18 Policy. Relevant forms will be sent to parents and the student with confirmation documents. No student will be accepted at the Centre without completing and returning these forms before the start of the course.
During their first week students under the age of 18 are given a point of contact and the Centre's code of conduct. At this point students will be advised on the support they will receive due to their age and the rules and safeguards that are put in place for their wellbeing are explained.
All under 18s are required to live in INTO Manchester residential or approved homestay accommodation. For further details please contact us.
A confidential service for students is available offering advice and information on disabilities such as dyslexia, sensory impairments, and mobility and medical conditions.
