Where will it take me?
Take your first step towards qualifying as an architect with this degree.
Through studio design projects involving both manual and computer aided drawing and model making you’ll use your skills and creativity to develop your own design style. This exciting course introduces you to the design process through a series of field visits and design projects, gradually developing your architectural thinking, skills and knowledge.
The degree is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and gives you exemption from the RIBA Part I examination.
What will I study?
All students complete modules tailored to your chosen degree subjects.
How will I be assessed?
Entry to all honours degrees at Newcastle University is highly competitive, and students hoping to progress onto undergraduate architectural degree programmes at Newcastle University must maintain high standards throughout the Year One programme.
While your grades in the Year One programme do not count towards the final degree, your performance will be used to determine whether you meet the specified progression grades for direct entry to your chosen business degree programme at the University.
Assessment is both formal and informal. Informally you will receive advice and feedback throughout your programme from your teachers, enabling you to build on your successes and meet the requirements for entry to the second year of a degree.
