How do I qualify?

English language requirements:

IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.5 in writing and no less than 5.0 in other subskills) or equivalent.

Age requirements: 17 years and above

All students commencing courses on a published September start date must be 17 years old by 31 December of that calendar year.

Academic requirements:

Minimum of 72 UCAS points (DDD), excluding General Studies. Min C in Maths GCSE. Native language NOT considered

BA (Hons) International Development looks at the social, economic and political dimensions of international development, allowing you to study a diverse range of subjects from economic growth to poverty and gender inequality.

The flexible approach to the course means you can study the areas you’re most interested in and build on your strengths, as well as developing skills in areas such as preparing reports, giving presentations and analysing data that will be transferable to your chosen career.


What will I study?

All students complete modules tailored to your chosen degree subjects.

How will I be assessed?

A range of assessment methods are used, for example:

  • formal examinations
  • coursework
  • projects
  • group and individual presentations
  • problem-solving exercises.
