"Teaching here is fun because we can draw upon students’ experiences from all over the world and bring their different perspectives and ideas into the classroom. It’s a vibrant and positive learning environment.
The teachers have a vast range of experience, including holding high-level management and accounting jobs in global companies such as the NHS, and they bring real experiences and case studies to the programme, which enriches the learning experience for the students.
INTO Exeter students go on to do extremely well at the University, so this is your opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge on how to achieve the highest grades and succeed at the University."

"The multilanguage, multi-background atmosphere inside the INTO building is what the world is becoming outside. INTO’s presence on campus benefits English-born-and-raised students as much as the international students enrolled at INTO.
I enjoy teaching maths the most. It is a universal language and demonstrates to students on a daily basis that they already have an inroad into other cultures. I am very proactive in addressing students’ concerns and anxiety about the subjects I teach. I meet with them outside classroom hours to do extra problems and I make myself available to them by email at all times."

"It’s brilliant working with students from around the world and seeing them build friendships together. I love learning about other countries and cultures from the students, and being a part of building the bridge between their life back home and their life in the UK.
My top tips for INTO students are to make the most of your time here – ask questions and be curious. Travel within the UK as much as possible to use your English as much as you can. Read newspapers and be aware of what's going on."

"I thoroughly enjoy teaching and I love to see students come ‘alight’ as they begin to understand scientific concepts that are new to them, or that they may have struggled with in the past. I find it extremely rewarding to see students achieve. A huge highlight is when you meet them three years later after their graduation ceremony and know that you have played a small part in helping them achieve their goal.
I tend to hang out in the prep room behind the lab rather than the staff room. My students know they can find me there for a quick question, or to ask for a time when they can sit down one-to-one to go through something they are not sure of. I work hard to ensure all the learning materials are put onto the Virtual Learning platform so students have access to workbooks and completed exam-style questions."

"I have lived in so many places, so I know what it’s like to study in different countries. I can relate to the students and inspire them with new and current marketing topics."

"I moved into my current role, as Academic Director at INTO Exeter, in 2015 and am privileged to work here. It is a diverse and vibrant working and learning environment and I’m lucky enough to work with an extremely talented and dedicated academic team to deliver a first class education to our students.
One of the great things about working here is the fact that we have staff and students from all over the world. The advice I’d give to our students is to remember how lucky you are to have the opportunity to study at a great university with people from all over the world. My colleagues will support you throughout your studies and help you to make the most of every opportunity you have."

"There are many reasons why I enjoy working at INTO. Location is one of them. The INTO University of Exeter campus is amazingly green with its many secret paths and gardens. I’ve been here for over 10 years and I’m still discovering new parts of it.
Another reason, and by far the more important one, is the people. I love working with colleagues who inspire and motivate me, and share my passion for education. The same goes for the students I meet. In all my teaching career, I have never met a student that was not unique and special in some way, helping me change and grow as a person. I am grateful every day that my job involves sharing with and learning from others in such an open and diverse environment."

If you have any problems, your Personal Tutor is there to offer advice or help you resolve an issue. They will also:
- meet with you for tutorials throughout the year
- help you to settle into the academic community
- communicate your academic progress and provide you with guidance
- be available to meet during set office hours or by appointment
- refer you to appropriate sources of academic or welfare support
Other academic support in the INTO Centre includes:
- language advisers to help you with English
- maths support sessions at a Drop-In Clinic where you’ll be able to review questions and examples
