Pre-Master's - English & Research Skills
This 3 or 6-month Pre-Master's program provides a direct route to a wide variety of Master's degrees at the University of Stirling. The program will increase your English language abilities and enhance your research skills in preparation for postgraduate study at the university.

How do I qualify?
English language requirements: |
IELTS 5.0 (with no less than 5.0 in any subskill) or equivalent* *NB: Students who wish to enter on a Student Route visa require a minimum of 5.5 in all subskills, or equivalent. |
Age requirements: | 21 years and above |
Academic requirements: | Pass in an undergraduate degree in any academic subject or Diploma (3-5 years) with high grades in any academic subject. |

Classes are held Monday to Friday between 9.00am-5.00pm, excluding bank holidays. |
What will I study?
All students complete modules tailored to your chosen degree subjects.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is both formal and informal. Informally, you will receive advice and feedback throughout your program from your teachers. You will also be assessed by a combination of examinations at the end of each semester and coursework which may include:
- written assignments
- reports
- practical exercises
- group and individual research
- presentations
- problem-solving exercises.
