What happens next?
Congratulations on submitting your US study application!
Look out for a confirmation email from us to let you know that we’ve received your application, which you should receive shortly. This will contain your Application ID and details of what you need to do next.
To process your application we need translated copies of your academic and identification documents and a signed copy of your declaration. Set up your My Account - your student account that allows you to securely and easily submit your documents to us - to upload them. Once we’ve received these documents, we can make a decision on your application.
Your next steps…
You’ll need to provide us with the following supporting documents:
a copy of your passport
copies of your academic transcripts and certificates
The easiest way to send us your documents is through My Account. Or you can reply to your application confirmation email.
Applying for an F-1 student visa
When you apply to your chosen university, you’ll need to submit evidence of your financial situation. One of the most important documents you’ll need in order to apply for an F-1 student visa is called an I-20*. To apply for this document, you must:
Provide your chosen university with a bank statement with the required amount for your I-20. Once your application is accepted, the university will then create an I-20 form for you.
Next, you’ll pay the US $200 SEVIS I-901 fee online. Paying this fee will activate your I-20 in the SEVIS database.
Print your I-20 receipt – you’ll need it when you go to the US Embassy/Consulate.
Once you’ve completed these steps, you’ll make an appointment with your local US Embassy/Consulate for a visa interview. For this interview, you’ll need to bring some specific documents – including a passport valid for travel to the United States and your I-20 form.
*An I-20 is a paper record of your information in the US government database called ‘SEVIS’ (Student and Exchange Visitor Program).
