INTO Drew frequently asked questions (FAQ)
If you’ve received an offer letter to be in a Pathway program, it is because you did not meet the competitive academic and/or English requirements to be admitted directly to Drew University. It was determined that you have a great potential to be successful at Drew, but could benefit from the extra support that INTO Drew provides. Upon successful completion of a Pathway program, students gain full admission into one of Drew's undergraduate or graduate programs to complete their studies.
INTO is a university partnership program that provides students with the opportunity to study in the UK, US and Australia. INTO Drew has helped thousands of students succeed in higher education for over 10 years. We offer exceptional support services before, during and after your studies with us, so you can concentrate on your success. We pride ourselves on our diverse environment and provide different programs to suit your needs, whether it be learning English on its own or through a Pathway program that allows you to learn English alongside your other classes. We also prepare international students to adapt to the educational, social and cultural norms of their host country while pursuing a degree.
International Year One (Pathway program) allows you to earn credits toward your degree even if you do not meet the academic and/or English requirements for direct admission.
If your offer is for a 2-semester program, you will receive additional academic and cultural support in addition to English language courses. If your offer is for a 1-semester program, you will receive the same academic and cultural support, but not English language courses.
International Year One is designed to help you successfully complete your first year and graduate in the same amount of time as fellow freshmen. More information is provided here.
Our Graduate Pathway program will give you the academic foundation and essential language skills to successfully move on to your master’s degree. You’ll receive the highest level of support throughout your program, including personalized academic advising.
Integrated Master’s Programs (IMP) provide comprehensive academic support and services in the first term of select graduate programs. IMP students are full degree-seeking students who are issued a degree-seeking I-20. We take any concerns out of the application process and academic journey by providing pre-arrival outreach, airport pickup, dedicated orientation, academic and cultural advising, counseling, out-of-class activities, as well as use of all Drew and INTO Drew on-campus resources, classrooms and facilities.
IMP is available for many of our most popular graduate degrees, with curriculum focused on both major coursework and building skills for success in graduate work.
Drew's Pathway program provides Drew students additional language support, and all classes bear full credit towards your degree. That means you will graduate on time in four years. Outside any English classes you might need (by placement — we won't make you take more than you need) all of your classes will be with other American students. You can begin your major courses right away, live in the residence hall with Americans and be fully integrated as a Drew student.
The only difference is that you will get additional academic and advising support to ensure that you are successful in your classes and transition to university life. You will even have your own academic coach, a professional staff member who will help you access tutoring support, help you plan your time and your career and with any concerns you have about social life on campus.
At the undergraduate level, the Pathway program does not add additional time or requirements for graduation. At the graduate level, the Pathway program can add zero to two additional terms of study to a student's degree.
Costs vary from year to year. For International Year One, you will pay the same base tuition as any other student prior to any scholarships being factored in. Costs do vary for the Graduate Pathway program depending on your specific program of study. For more information, visit our fees and finance page.
