Montclair State University is working to support students who, due to the current availability of visa appointments, may not be able to arrive on campus on the first day of class. For a small number of graduate degrees, the university will be supporting students allowing them to start classes hybrid and transition to campus during September to continue studies as normal. Please see below for available programs, key dates, and requirements. The university will be contacting any student who holds an I-20 for Fall 2025 for one of these three programs starting this week to discuss their interest, and explain the available options to them.
Students who wish to take advantage of the late arrival option should complete the form that Montclair will send them no later than August 22.

Available to students who have a visa appointment scheduled to occur before September 5
Students must arrive on campus no later than September 26
Students will register before they arrive for 9 credits
First 7-week term: 3 credits (hybrid)
Second 7-week term: 6 credits hybrid or in person
Students must be registered in hybrid courses to be in compliance, and once they arrive on campus before September 26, they will continue in the hybrid class.
Refund Policy
Students who enroll under the late arrival option have until September 5 to drop their courses and get a refund. After this date, the enrollment deposit and any fees associated with the first 7-week term are non-refundable, regardless of the outcome of the visa appointment.
